Tokyo logs 716 new cases

Tokyo reported 716 new novel coronavirus cases Saturday, up by 182 from last Saturday, marking the 14th consecutive day in which the daily tally exceeded the same-day figure of the previous week.

The seven-day moving average was 563.1, up 18% from 476 last week, according to the Tokyo metropolitan government.

The number of seriously ill patients was 50, down by four from Friday.
