Tokyo logs 420 new cases

Tokyo logged 420 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, marking the first time the daily tally has exceeded 400 in the capital since March 17, when 409 cases were confirmed.

The Wednesday tally exceeded that logged on the same day in the previous week for the fourth consecutive week.

The average number of new cases in the past seven days stands at 309.7, up by 3.6% from 298.9 in the previous seven days.
