Tokyo logs 316 new COVID-19 cases; 52 remain seriously ill

Tokyo recorded 316 new cases of the novel coronavirus Wednesday, the metropolitan government said. Last Wednesday, there were 213 cases reported.

The number of patients seriously ill with COVID-19 was 52, down by two from Tuesday's figure.

The moving average of the new daily cases in the past seven days came to 277.9, or 94.3% of the figure for the previous seven days' 294.7 cases.
