Tokyo logs 270 new cases

Tokyo logged 270 new cases of the novel coronavirus Friday, the metropolitan government said. The daily figure fell below 300 for the first time since Wednesday. The number of seriously ill patients was 70 as of Friday, down by one from the previous day.

The moving average of new daily cases in the past seven days came to 267.9, or 74.1 percent of the figure for the previous seven days, which was 361.7.
