Tokyo hit another new single-day record of novel coronavirus cases with 243 on Friday, breaking the previous record high of 224 on Thursday, the Tokyo metropolitan government said.
This is the first time the number of infected people in Tokyo has topped 200 for two consecutive days. The total number of people infected in the capital now stands at 7,515.
