Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike, who has been hospitalized due to exhaustion, will extend her period of recuperation for a few more days on the advice of her doctor, it has been announced.
The timing of her release from the hospital and her return to official duties has yet to be determined.
According to the Tokyo metropolitan government and other sources, Koike felt ill and was hospitalized in Tokyo on June 22, canceling her official duties through Sunday. However, she still has not fully recovered from her exhaustion, prompting the doctor to decide that Koike should remain hospitalized.
