There were 30.1 million visitors to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in fiscal 2017, the operator of the theme parks, Oriental Land Co., announced on Monday.
This was a 0.3 percent increase from the previous fiscal year and the first rise in three years.
Oriental Land said new special events had proved to be highly popular, such as "Disney Gifts of Christmas" at Tokyo Disneyland, which was an event with projection mapping that used Cinderella Castle as a screen. A new indoor attraction, "Nemo & Friends SeaRider," at Tokyo DisneySea also drew in more visitors, according to the company.
