Tokyo confirms 591 new coronavirus cases

The Tokyo metropolitan government confirmed Wednesday 591 new coronavirus infections, the highest single-day figure since the state of emergency was lifted on March 21. The average number of patients in the past week is 497.1, up 19.2% from the previous week of 417.
