Toilet leak on Liverpool fans' coach to Madrid leaves '80 per cent' of bags covered in urine

Some Liverpool fans had a less than ideal start to their weekend trip to Madrid after a 30-hour coach journey from Merseyside to the Spanish capital was disrupted by a toilet leak.

It resulted in urine covering supporters' luggage, with some fans taking to Twitter to tell their tales of woe.

Reds fan Jamie said: "80 per cent of the bags are covered in p*** cos there's been a leak hahahaha."

A picture appeared to show fans inspecting the damage, and a number of wet patches were visible on the pavement.

Jamie added: "Mine's sound but some old man literally has no undies left for the full trip because they're drenched in stale p***."

Cheeky Twitter users couldn't resist the chance of a pun, with one replying and saying: "What a p***take."

Another said: "It's the Euro p****g Cup final."

It is likely to be forgotten about, however, if the Reds go on to claim victory in the final.

Fans of both Tottenham and Liverpool have been travelling to Madrid in their thousands via any means of transport, with a large number going even without a ticket to the game.

Friday was predicted to be the UK airspace's busiest ever day, with over 9,000 flights expected to take off.

Hotel rooms in Madrid are almost all sold out and some fans have spent thousands of pounds getting there.

Liverpool are slight favourites for the match, having finished a huge 26 points clear of Spurs in the Premier League this season, but both teams will fancy their chances following their miraculous semi-final wins.

The Reds overcame a 3-0 first leg deficit to beat Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate following a stunning 4-0 win at Anfield, while Spurs came from 3-0 down on aggregate to draw 3-3 and go through on away goals after a dramatic last second goal from Lucas Moura.
