Toddler taken to hospital after being hit by car in Edinburgh

A toddler has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.

The two-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle on Drum Brae Avenue, Edinburgh, near the Scotmid Co-op, at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services attended the scene in the west of the city and police say the boy was taken to hospital as a precuation.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening , Edinburgh Live reports.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a two-year-old boy who was hit by a car on Drum Brae Avenue, Edinburgh, around 4.20pm on Wednesday, 18 August.

"He was taken to hospital as a precaution with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries."
