Toddler rushed to hospital with serious injuries after road collision in Fife

A Fife toddler was left with serious injuries this morning after being knocked down by a car in Townhill, near Dunfermline.

Police and the ambulance service were called to Main Street, Townhill, just after 10am on Monday (3 August).

A three-year-old girl was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy following the collision, police said in a statement.

Dunfermline Police said on Twitter that the road was closed following the incident, and is likely to remain that way for some time.

"Emergency services currently in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on Main St, Townhill. Road currently closed in both directions. This will likely remain place for some time. Please avoid area," the force posted on Twitter.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 10.10am on Monday, 3 August, 2020, following the report of a car colliding with a three -year-old child on Main Street Townhill, Dunfermline.

"Emergency services attended and the girl has been taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

There was no appeal for witnesses.
