Toddler rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car in Dublin

A toddler was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Dublin over the weekend.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Saturday in the Castleknock area on the northside of the city.

The three-year-old was riding his bike at the time of the horror collision, Dublin Live reports.

He was rushed to Connolly Hospital with "serious injuries" following the Riverwood Hall incident.

A man in his 30s was arrested by Gardai a short time after the crash.

He remained in Garda custody over the weekend and has since been charged and will appear in Blanchardstown court.

A Garda spokesman said "We attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at Riverwood Hall, Dublin 15, at approximately 4pm on Saturday 31st October.

"He has since been charged and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court."
