Toddler rushed to hospital following quad bike and scrambler crash on Dublin road

A toddler was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a serious collision in Dublin on Thursday.

The incident took place in the Cherry Orchard area after 7pm yesterday evening.

It is understood to have happened when a quad bike and scrambler collided at Croftwood Crescent in the south west of the city, Dublin Live reports.

The toddler girl has since been taken to Crumlin Hospital with serious injuries.

Another person, an adult male, was taken to Tallaght Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision which occurred at Croftwood Crescent, Cherry Orchard, Dublin 10, at approximately 7:20pm, 17th September 2020.

"A female child has been taken to Crumlin Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

"A 19 year old male was take to Tallaght Hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. No further information is available at this time."

Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillor Daithí Doolan said: "I sincerely hope the injured make a full recovery. This collision between a quad and a scrambler in Cherry Orchard left a young man and an infant seriously injured.

"My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. The community are in shock. Speaking with residents tonight I have no doubt the community in Cherry Orchard will rally around the family and give them the support they need to get through this."
