A police investigation has been sparked after a toddler was found dead in Ayrshire.
A two-year-old girl died suddenly at a property on St Andrew's Court in Saltcoats.
The death is being treated as "unexplained" by police but they insist there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Officers were made aware of the sudden death of a two-year-old girl at a property on St Andrew's Court in Saltcoats around 5.20pm on Monday, January 20.
"Her death is currently being treated as unexplained although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
