Toddler floating face down in river rescued after strangers dash to her rescue

A group of seven men dashed to the rescue of a toddler who fell into a river.

The three-year-old girl was floating face down in the water near the town of Pingland, Duyun City, China, last Thursday.

Her frantic mother could be heard screaming for help as the current swept her away.

The seven rescuers were working at a local water project when they heard the distressed calls for help.

Footage of the accident, which was taken on a mobile phone, shows the little girl drifting down the river unconscious.

Two of the men quickly jump into the water from different directions to save the child.

One eventually manages to grab her and carry her to the bank.

The rescuers then worked tirelessly to try to revive the girl.

One of the group performed chest compressions on her - and after about two minutes - she regained consciousness and started to wail.

The girl was later sent to the hospital, where doctors completed a thorough check.

She was discharged later after it was determined she suffered no injuries.

The seven unsung heroes, they left the scene without leaving their names.

Their boss, who was later reached by the press, said the group would like to remain anonymous and said they did nothing more than anyone else would do under such circumstances.
