Toddler fighting for life after plunging from eighth-floor flat window

A toddler has been left fighting for life after falling from an eighth-floor window.

Emergency services were called to reports of a child falling out of the window of a block of flats in Sunbury, Surrey around 3.50pm on Tuesday (March 14).

Police and paramedics attended the scene on Spelthorne Grove, where a two-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital.

He remains in a critical but stable condition.

Officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "We were called to reports of a child who had fallen from the window of a block of flats on Spelthorne Grove in Sunbury at around 3.50pm yesterday afternoon (14 March).

"Officers attended along with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance service and a 2-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

"The police cordon at the scene has now been removed and the investigation to establish circumstances is ongoing."

SECAmb confirmed paramedics were called to the scene at 3.45pm. They were unable to give any further details as the incident took place at a private address.
