Toddler dies after falling into pond

An 18-month-old girl has died after falling into a garden pond.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Dollar Avenue, Falkirk, at around 6.10pm on Thursday, police said.

The child was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital but she died a short time later.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
