Toddler dies after being hit by car in driveway

The two-year old girl died at the scene.

A toddler has died after being struck by a car in a driveway in the South Australian town of Cowell on Sunday afternoon.

Just after midday, police and emergency crews were called to Finger Hill Road on the state's Eyre Peninsula after reports that a child had been struck by a car.

The two-year-old girl died at the scene.

The driver, a 27-year-old man, was not injured and is assisting police with the investigation.

Major Crash investigators have headed to the scene to investigate the circumstances.

The girl is the second child to die in a driveway accident this week. A 15 month-old boy was killed at Parafield Gardens on Thursday.
