Toddler critical after teen driver crashes into pram

A toddler is in a critical condition after being hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old in Narwee in Sydney's south.

The two-year-old boy was hit while his grandmother was pushing him along in a pram at the intersection of Hannans and Penshurst roads.

Police were called to the scene just before 4:30pm on Friday and took the teen driver to hospital to take blood and urine samples.

The grandmother was not injured but was treated for shock at the scene.

The toddler was unconscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to Randwick Children's Hospital.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident involving a metallic blue 2003 Nissan Pulsar sedan to get in contact with them.
