Toddler book has parents stumped as 'infuriating' mistake ruins game of 'I spy'

Books can be great tools for toddlers to help them get to grips with the alphabet and get them to associate letters with words they already know how to say. But when you pick up a book designed for a child as a parent, you expect to be able to easily understand everything it's trying to teach, right?

That's not the case for one book currently going viral online though, as one page has such an "infuriating" mistake on one of its pages that it's been making adults scratch their heads in confusion - as no one can make sense of it.

The page seemingly has no solution (Nitrain17/Reddit)

The page, which was shared on the Mildly Infuriating forum on Reddit, is set up for toddlers to play a game of I Spy in which they find something pictured on the page that begins with the letter R.

But they'll have a tough task ahead of them - as there doesn't appear to be anything on the page that fits the brief.

The page reads: "I spy with my little eye, something beginning with ... R."

And alongside the text are several pictures, showing a car, a train, an aeroplane, and a boat, which seems to make it impossible for any toddlers - or any adults, for that matter - to correctly solve the puzzle.

However, on the next page, the book claims that one picture of a boat with large sails is actually a "rowboat", which is the answer they were looking for - despite the picture not showing a rowboat at all.

The poster wrote alongside the pictures of the pages: "I thought I was stupid because I couldn’t figure out which one started with R."

And commenters were equally as infuriated, with many making jokes about other items in the picture that could begin with R - including "rcar" and, more sensibly, a "red plane".

One person fumed: "THAT'S A SAILBOAT."

While another added: "You don't see the rcar or the rplane or the rtrain?"

And a third posted: "I was thinking red roof car, or red plane."
