Lancashire Police believe the mum and daughter boarded a plane from Glasgow airport at 5.30pm on August 25, along with the two-year-old's father, Lee Rogers, 39.
It is thought they arrived in Alicante, Spain, at 9.35pm on the same day but there were no further confirmed sightings.
In an update today, August 30, police said officers collected Gracie-May at Manchester Airport and took her to a place of safety.
A 35-year-old woman, who police wanted to speak to in connection with the two-year-old's disappearance, was detained by officers at the airport.
Lancashire Police said the woman is not under arrest but she will be voluntarily interviewed in due course.
A 39-year-old man who police also wanted to speak to in relation to Gracie-May's disappearance has not returned to the UK.
A police spokesperson said: "We would like to thank everybody who shared our appeal and played a key role in helping with our investigation to find Gracie-May. Your support, as ever, is massively appreciated."
