Toddler, 3, dies after fatal road traffic collision in Fife

A toddler in Fife has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Dunfermline earlier today (Monday 3 August).

Police and the ambulance service were called to Main Street, Townhill, just after 10am on Monday following reports that the child had been knocked down by a car.

Emergency services rush the girl to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, but she died from her injuries a short time later.

The road is currently closed to allow a full collision investigation to take place and there were no other injuries reported.

Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who have witnessed the crash to come forward, especially those who may have dash cam footage from the area.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn, of Road Policing East, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of those involved with this tragic incident and I would ask that their privacy is respected at this time.

“Our enquiries continue into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash and we would ask that if anyone has any information that they contact officers.
