Todd Gurley ruled out vs. 49ers, Rams make 2 roster moves

After initially being listed as doubtful, Todd Gurley has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN. In his place, Malcolm Brown will get the start at running back with Darrell Henderson as his backup.

Gurley suffered a thigh contusion in last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks and was unable to practice. Sean McVay said the injury had the Rams “caught off-guard” after it didn’t seem serious coming out of Week 5.

The Rams also made two other roster moves on Saturday, signing John Kelly to the active roster from the practice squad, while also waiving Nsimba Webster from the 53-man squad.

This leaves the Rams without three starters against the 49ers: Gurley, Aqib Talib and Clay Matthews.
