Todd Cantwell Rangers 'focus' message as Ibrox star 'delighted' with St Mirren goal and assists

Todd Cantwell expressed his delight after a man of the match display for Rangers.

The January recruit grabbed the opening goal of the game and provided two assists as Michael Beale's men eventually ran out 5-2 winners over St Mirren at Ibrox. The former Norwich City man has been finding his feet game by game following his move north of the border as he continues to impress alongside fellow signing Nicolas Raskin.

Cantwell produced a tidy close-range finish from a James Tavernier cross to get Rangers up and running after the skipper had earlier been denied from the penalty spot by Trevor Carson. Mark O'Hara scored a goal of the season contender to draw the visitors level heading into the break before Fashion Sakala headed the home side ahead once more.

O'Hara stunned Govan once again with another brilliant finish beyond Allan McGregor before the home side turned on the style with a quick-fire Alfredo Morelos double before Scott Arfield rounded off the scoring with a cheeky finish after climbing off the bench.

It was the perfect response to last week's Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic with the Scottish Cup showdown with Ange Postecoglou's men now the main focus. A number of players have laid down a marker for a starting spot at Hampden with a tricky test against red-hot Aberdeen to come next weekend before the big last four tie.

Writing on his Instagram page alongside an image of his goal celebration, Cantwell wrote: "Delighted to get on the scoresheet again today, two assists and 3 points. Focus onto next week."

Malik Tillman also commented on the post simply writing: "MOTM".
