Todd Cantwell describes "frightening" Sadio Mane moment in Liverpool's win at Norwich

Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell has described the "horrible feeling" of playing against Liverpool's table-toppers, including Sadio Mane.

Cantwell and his Canaries teammates impressed for large spells of Saturday night's Premier League meeting at Carrow Road, which saw the bottom of the table side face the team at the top of the tree.

Mane began the game on the bench following a recent hamstring injury, but after he emerged on the hour mark he brilliantly scored the game's only goal in the 78th minute.

In testing, blustery conditions, Mane was able to control Jordan Henderson's lofted pass before spinning and firing a shot into the net with his left foot, further improving Liverpool's incredible record of 25 wins from their 26 Premier League matches this season, a tally which sees them 25 points clear at the top of the table.

And Cantwell - who was linked with Liverpool in a report from The Athletic on Monday - was particularly impressed with the Reds' Senegalese forward.

"The way Sadio Mane takes that out of the air and the way he snaps at it with his weaker foot is frightening," Cantwell told Norwich's official website.

"We knew we were up against some of the best players in the world. Any sniff of a chance and you’ve got a horrible feeling they’re going to take it.

"When we get our chances, we really need to capitalise because we knew we weren’t going to have spells in the game where we would control the ball how we like.

"The resilience we showed against the ball, I feel like we deserved something from the game."

Norwich are next in action at Wolves on Sunday, while Liverpool are in Spain to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
