Todd Boehly prepares double Chelsea transfer bid as Thomas Tuchel gifted huge Jules Kounde boost

The latest Chelsea transfer stories brought to you by football.london on Tuesday, July 19.

Boehly plots double bid

Todd Boehly is stepping up Chelsea's pursuit for Jules Kounde and Presnel Kimpembe, with Thomas Tuchel eager to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer. The duo have been heavily linked with exits from their respective clubs and the Blues are ready to swoop in.

football.london understand that the west Londoners will submit respective bids for both Kounde and Kimpembe this week. It's also believed that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the Sevilla defender, with negotiations said to likely be smooth this time around following difficulties 12 months ago.

Kounde boost

Chelsea have been handed a major transfer boost in their pursuit to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde despite interest from Barcelona. Reports from the Spain, as cited by The Mirror, suggest the Blues remain ahead of Barcelona to sign Kounde despite Xavi’s attempts to persuade the France international to have a change in heart and join him at the Camp Nou.

Sevilla want to move Kounde on despite already losing Brazilian centre-back Diego Carlos to Aston Villa, with the La Liga outfit in need of funds to reinvest in the squad.

Vieira answers Gallagher transfer question

Patrick Vieira has said he does not think there is any chance of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher returning to Crystal Palace this summer. The 22-year-old is currently back with his parent club for pre-season having impressed on loan at Palace last season, where he played 39 times in all competitions and scored eight goals.

"At the moment I don't think there is any chance because he is a Chelsea player," Vieira said, after initially laughing at the question regarding his future. "He did fantastically well for us, but he is in pre-season with Chelsea and honestly we wish him all the best. I don't think there is a way to get him back."
