Todd Boehly has been heavily criticised by Bundesliga chief Christian Heidel for the sacking of Thomas Tuchel. The American billionaire made the decision to dismiss the head coach following Chelsea's defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in their UEFA Champions League opener.
Tuchel's sacking also follows significant backing from Boehly, who invested around £270million on new signings with the help of the German. The Blues welcomed eight players - one of whom has returned to their former club on loan and another who's arrived on loan - to the club this summer.
The aforementioned fee was spent on signing Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina and Denis Zakaria (loan fee). And, having been given little under a week to integrate his new firepower before being sacked, Boehly has been blasted.

Heidel has been left furious with Chelsea's decision to sack Tuchel. Speaking to German outlet BILD, the Mainz sporting director explained his frustration and claimed that the new Blues owners have 'no idea about football'.
"With Thomas it came out of the blue," Heidel said. "The sacking is grist to the mill of those who are against investors in football. It was purely an investor’s decision.
"Someone who has no idea about football probably thought that sixth place wasn’t good enough for him and said: ‘Then let’s try another coach.’ After only six games, I can’t think of any other reason. But Chelsea will bitterly regret this decision – they won’t get such a good coach again so quickly."
Chelsea have since named Potter as the club's new head coach, signing a five-year deal. The former Seagulls boss impressed immensely during his time at the Amex Stadium and looks set for a bright future at Stamford Bridge if he can implement his philosophies.
