Today's statistics show almost 200 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Lanarkshire

The Scottish Government today said that 197 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.

It comes as 47 patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

The test numbers for March 30 show:

A total of 14,624  Scottish tests have concluded. Of these:

■ 13,061 tests were confirmed negative

■ 1563  tests were positive

■ 47 patients who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.

The First Minister confirmed the latest figures at a press conference this afternoon.

Scotland is still on lockdown and Scots are being reminded to follow the new regulations.

Nicola Sturgeon Sturgeon said: "These measures are essential for the protection of others.

"Coronovirus this is the biggest challenge of our lifetime and  measures we take to tackle it must reflect the magnitude of that.

"These measures are essential to slow down the spread of this virus. They are essential to reduce the peak impact of it."
