A further 11,962 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland – with the disease claiming another 13 lives.
Latest figures published by the Scottish Goverment and Public Health Scotland show there are 859 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals which is up 49 from yesterday.
There are currently 36 people with the disease being treated in ICUs.
Meanwhile, there are 95 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals — up six in 24 hours — while fewer than five people are being treated for the illness in the region's intensive care units.
The new Covid deaths recorded in the last 24 hours mean Scotland's death toll now stands at 9,858.
However, 12,372 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, December 19 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Renfrewshire has the highest rate in the country — at 1,933.2 as of Thursday, December 30.
North Lanarkshire has the second-highest infection rate at 1,823.6 while South Lanarkshire is third with 1,809.4.
In terms of Ayrshire's thee local authorities, East Ayrshire has the highest rate of 1,457.2, South Ayrshire's rate stands at 1,278.8 while North Ayrshire's is 1,196.3.
Of the 707 new cases reported in Ayrshire, 276 were in East Ayrshire with 226 in North Ayrshire and 205 in South Ayrshire.

A total of 4,382,665 people have received one dose of a Covid vaccine; 4,015,376 are double jabbed and 2,979,334 people have received a third dose/booster.
