A further 1,542 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours with the disease claiming another eight lives.
Figures published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland today show there remain 353 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals - down three on yesterday.
There are 41 people battling the virus in ICUs across the nation which is one less than yesterday.
The new fatalities mean Scotland's Covid death toll now stands at 8,029.
However, 10,421 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to August 8.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, East Lothian has the highest rate in the country — at 267.8 as of Wednesday, August 11.
North Ayrshire has the second-highest infection rate at 230.2 while North Lanarkshire is third with 226.6.
Of Ayrshire's remaining two local authorities, East Ayrshire's rate is 152.1 and South Ayrshire's is 146.2.
A total of 134 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the region in the last 24 hours. Broken down, 67 were in North Ayrshire, 46 in East Ayrshire and 21 in South Ayrshire.

There are 19 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals – up one from yesterday – while fewer than five people are battling the disease in intensive care in the region.
A total of 4,044,950 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,412,051 have received a second dose.
