A further 2,566 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours – with the disease claiming another 27 lives.
Latest data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland shows there are 925 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals – up eight since yesterday.
The number of people battling the virus in ICUs across the nation is 57 – a reduction of two over the same period.
There remain 108 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals while six people are being treated for the disease in intensive care.
The new fatalities mean Scotland's death toll now stands at 9,099.
However, 11,538 deaths have been registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to Sunday, October 24.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Clackmannanshire has the highest rate in the country – at 598.6 as of Tuesday, October 26.
Stirling has the second-highest infection rate at 428.4 while West Lothian is third with 425.4.
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, East Ayrshire has the highest rate of 425.2. South Ayrshire 's rate stands at 292.5 while North Ayrshire's is 290.5.
Of the 149 new cases reported in Ayrshire, 56 were in North Ayrshire, 54 in East Ayrshire and 39 in South Ayrshire.
