The David Blunkett saga has taken another twist this morning, with the home secretary issuing a defiant statement to the press.

The Zimbabwean opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, is in London to rally support against President Robert Mugabe's government before the country's elections next March. Mark Oliver is at Mr Tsvangirai's press conference and will be reporting here later on.
