The government is holding the first of its nationwide meetings with Muslim community leaders. The idea is to address concerns and, fittingly, Hazel Blears, a Home Office minister, has found herself once again involved in the controversy over stop and search. She today said "just picking people up just on the basis that they're Muslim" would never work, but that appears at odds with remarks in March that Muslims had to accept the "reality" of more stop and search.
Elsewhere, Iran has announced it is going ahead with its nuclear fuel programmes and there are reports in the US media it could be a decade away from building a bomb.
