Before Christmas arrives, there is a rather important event taking place that we all need to - and should already - know about.
The country will head to the polls to vote on Thursday December 12 in a pre-Christmas General Election .
The UK could enter the new year with a brand new Prime Minister if current PM Boris Johnson doesn't do what it takes to win over the voting public.
Voters will have to choose which Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Brexit Party or other and independent candidates they want to represent their local constituency as well as lead the country through Brexit which is currently earmarked for January 31 2020.

But the only way to have your say is if you're registered to vote.
You have up until 11.59pm on Tuesday, November 26, to make sure they are signed up and can cast their all-important vote next month.
However, if you need to vote via post, you must be registered before 5pm on Tuesday.
On Friday, November 22, more than 300,000 people registered in a just 24 hours for the vote - almost half of those below the age of 25 - as the cut-off date looms.

If you're unavailable on the day of the vote and cannot make it to the polling station, worry not. You can apply for someone to vote on your behalf which is a proxy vote and the deadline is 5pm on December 4.
