Yesterday, as part of Fairtrade fortnight in Cardiff, olive oil farmers from Palestine visited Fair Do's in Canton to demonstrate how the local ethical shop was doing it's best to help 9,000 farmers, reports Capture Cardiff.
Yesterday the public protection committee issued a suspension on new licences for taxi cabs in the city, following a protest outside the meeting at County Hall. The increase in the number of taxis in the city has meant some drivers will 'cherry-pick' fares, according to Chief Inspector Steve Murray. Today, theSouth Wales Echo reports Cardiff Council's plea to make sure the public report taxi drivers who refuse fares starting and ending within Cardiff as this is an offence.
The campaign to save Llanishen Reservoir from the development planning application put in by Western Power has reached a new international status, reports WalesOnline, as the local American media to the parent company Pennsylvania Power and Light published an article in the state's county newspaper The Morning Call. I visited the site where draining of the reservoir has already taken place this morning with members from the Reservoir Action Group and plan to write up the developments in the campaign so far.
