Pierhead sessions continue today with 'The future of journalism' with The Guardian's Sarah Hartley sitting on a panel including Charlie Beckett from Polis at 4.30pm. This morning there's 'How to be a global citizen' aimed at young budding film makers, and tonight George Monbiot will deiver the keynote lecture looking at the Copenhagen summit, before resident sŵn duo John Rostron and Huw Stephens hold a one-off night at the Norweigian Church. New developments have arisen in the campaign to save the Llanishen reservoir from American company Western Power - who are currently draining the sailing site. Reports from yesterday's Executive Business Meeting at Cardiff Council have come in from yourCardiff including a new licensing scheme for HMOs in Cathays. WalesOnline reports the decision from Welsh Assembly Government's planning inspectorate to refuse an appeal against the council's decision stop a new restaurant opening on City Road - this echos the police's aim to clamp down on the late-night economy which leads to an increase in crime in the area.
Residents were reported to be challenged to a bet to see if the council can keep promises to keep Fairwater tidy at their local PACT meeting, reports yourCardiff.
