Toby Sibbick transfer latest as Hibs fail in bid to sign former Hearts loanee

Former Hearts midfielder Toby Sibbick will join Celtic’s Jack Hendry on a season-long loan deal with Oostende - after Hibs failed in a bid to land the Barnsley man.

Sibbick is set to be confirmed by the Belgian top tier side on Tuesday in time for the league kicking off this weekend.

Record Sport understands Hibs made an inquiry to Barnsley regarding the 21-year-old’s availability.

But the Tykes have decided to loan the player to Oostende who are owned by the same Pacific Media Group at the English Championship club.

Sibbick made only two appearances for Hearts after joining on loan in January. He starred in a debut 2-1 win over Rangers and again in a 3-3 draw with St Johnstone but was struck down by illness before the coronavirus crisis brought the season to an end.

Hendry moved to the Belgian side last month in a bid to kickstart his career after an injury hit spell in Australia last season.
