Toby Jones was left shocked when he encountered his cousin whilst learning about his ancestry on Who Do You Think You Are?
The Mr Bates vs the Post Office actor delved into his father’s lineage during a visit to Stoke and their connection to the pottery industry.
Discussing his ancestry with Ben Miller, the curator of ceramics at a museum, Jones was gobsmacked when Miller revealed he wasn’t just there to talk about pottery.
Miller disclosed that he and Jones are third-cousins once removed. “It’s quite a coincidence,” he said, explaining their shared family tie.
“Good to meet you,” a baffled Jones said, as the pair shook hands.
