Toby Greene unsuccessful in AFL appeal bid

Toby Greene's one-match AFL ban will stand with the GWS star to miss a vital game against Richmond. (AAP)

GWS stand-in skipper Toby Greene's one-game ban for striking Patrick Dangerfield has been upheld by the AFL appeals board.

Adrian Anderson, representing Greene, unsuccessfully argued there was an error of law in Tuesday night's tribunal hearing.

Greene, whose original two-match suspension was downgraded at the tribunal, will miss the Giants' crunch clash with Richmond on Friday night.
