Toby Carvery is selling bags of unwanted food for under £4 to combat food waste

Toby Carvey is selling bags full of unwanted food for under £4 in a bid to combat food waste.

The popular chain is offering "Magic Bags" of food which include fan favourites of Yorkshire puddings, meat and veg.

To avoid binning the unused roast dinner, the bags are available at the end of the day for anyone who wants to buy them, LancashireLive reports.

These Magic Bags are available at 153 restaurants across the country.

The bags can be purchased from the Too Good To Go app for £3.29 or £2.29 for the vegetarian option.

There are a limited number of bags up for grabs each day so you need to act quickly if you want to secure your Magic Bag.

All you need to do is download the Too Good To Go app and create an account.

Then pay through the app for the bag and you'll get a time slot of when you can go and pick it up.

One TikTok user recently revealed how her £3.29 order had enough food to feed a family.

One user responded that her Toby Carvery Magic Bag weighed three kilos - and felt heavier than a week's shopping.

Toby Carvey extended its partnership with Too Good To Go last November and say it is on a mission to ensure surplus food is still enjoyed rather than wasted.

The chain says their Magic Bags have saved more than 250 tonnes of C02e.

Toby Carvery says it is aiming to save 100,000 meals in February.

Martin Gosling, Operations Director at Toby Carvery, said: “We’re thrilled to see the positive impact our Magic Bags has had on the nation and planet already and we can’t wait to see how much this increases in 2022.

“As home of the roast, we take extra care in preparing each ingredient so guests can enjoy the perfect roast any day of the week so it’s rewarding to see our specially trained chefs’ efforts not going to waste.”

Paschalis Loucaides, UK Managing Director at Too Good To Go, added: “Toby Carvery has had a really successful trial period and I know our app users across the country have been itching to get their hands on a delicious Toby roast while helping to reduce food waste and its impact on the planet.

“Our partnership shows that you can still enjoy your favourite comfort food, help the planet and get a great deal, making Toby Carvery’s Magic Bags a win-win!”
