Toby Alderweireld out, Tanguy Ndombele in - Tottenham lineups vs Southampton in FA Cup replay

With games coming thick and fast for Tottenham, Jose Mo urinho has some big decisions to make.

Spurs are supposed to be on a two-week winter break - the first in the Premier League - but an FA Cup replay with Southampton means they will have to wait to have some time off before a busy run of fixtures.

After a 1-1 draw at St Mary's in the fourth round, the two teams go head-to-head at Totenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mourinho will want to rest some players, but cup progression will be key as the Portuguese boss seeks silverware this season.

So who will be in the team? We asked our reporters and Spurs fans to name their team for the cup replay.

Jose Mourinho praises Steven Bergwijn after debut goal

Jose Mourinho needs to mix his team up slightly as there will be some tired legs following the victory over Manchester City.

Debut goalscorer Steven Bergwijn definitely comes out of the team as he was signed after the first cup game against Southampton and is therefore ineligible.

Dele Alli is likely to be a doubt after his ankle injury following that controversial challenge from England team-mate Raheem Sterling on Sunday.

That could open the door for Tanguy Ndombele and Erik Lamela to come into the team while Mourinho must also decide whether to stick with the back four that kept a clean sheet against City.

Gold's team: Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Winks, Ndombele; Lamela, Lucas, Son.

Jose Mourinho needs to name a strong team once again as Tottenham return to FA Cup action.

Lifting the famous trophy is high up on his list of priorities at the club and Spurs will need to be at their best to beat in-form Southampton.

Jan Vertonghen should be given minutes at the back in place of Davinson Sanchez, with Tanguy Ndombele also coming into the side in midfield instead of Dele Alli.

Steven Bergwijn is unable to feature on Wednesday evening as he wasn't registered for the original tie and that means Erik Lamela should start.

Son Heung-min has struggled when he has played out wide and it would be nice to see him given the chance through the middle as the team look to cope in the absence of Harry Kane.

Guest's team: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Tanganga; Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele; Lamela, Lucas, Son.

Lee Wilmot - Live editor and Tottenham fan

I originally thought the back-line shouldn't change for this Wednesday's game, but I would perhaps make two changes, although only one in terms of personnel.

I'd bring Ryan Sessegnon in at left-back and move Japhet Tanganga into the heart of the defence alongside Davinson Sanchez, giving Toby Alderweireld a rest ahead of a busy period.

Tanguy Ndombele starts in a midfield two alongside Eric Dier for me, giving Harry Winks a rest, with Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso starting in behind Son Heung-min.

Wilmot's team: Lloris; Aurier, Tanganga, Sanchez, Sessegnon; Dier, Ndombele; Lo Celso, Lamela, Lucas; Son.
