Tobias Figueiredo could be set to leave Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo could be set to leave Nottingham Forest because he fancies a return to Portugal, according to reports.

The Athletic say the Reds centre-back is reportedly keen on the idea of returning to his homeland for non-footballing reasons.

The centre-back did not feature in their game against Huddersfield on Friday as the Reds were beaten again in what has been a disastrous start to the campaign under boss Sabri Lamouchi.

The Atheltic say he is one of the "more likely" departures from the City Ground this summer with the club needing to trim their squad size down after a hectic summer transfer window.

Forest have signed 12 players so far this summer which has left the squad overblown with Lamouchi currently having to manage 34 players.

But there are departures on the horizon with Tiago Silva expected to wrap up a move to Olympiakos in the coming days.

Forest do have plenty of centre-backs on their books should Figueiredo depart with Joe Worrall still at the club despite strong interest from Burnley.

The Reds also signed Loic Mbe Soh from Paris St Germain and Aberdeen's Scott McKenna.

Recently, Lamouchi did not rule out a number of exits ahead of the transfer window closing next week while he is also in the market for a winger with West Brom's Kamil Grosicki reportedly on his list of targets after failing to land him in January.
