Tobacco stolen during Co-op raid in Clifton

Tobacco was stolen during an early-morning raid at a Co-op store in Bristol.

Intruders broke into convenience store in Princess Victoria Street, in Clifton, at around 12.45am on Monday (February 1).

The shop was unable to open in the morning as usual after the break-in, but was planning to welcome customers back later in the day.

A spokesman for Co-op said earlier: “There was an incident at our Clifton store in the early hours of this morning while the store was closed for the night.

“Intruders had entered the store and, we appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything to come forward.

"The store is closed temporarily to allow police to investigate and for repairs to be carried out, and will re-open later today to serve the community.”
