'To do a Lansbury?' - Leeds United & Aston Villa sent blunt Nottingham Forest transfer message

Nottingham Forest fans have been left unimpressed with Darren Bent's recommendation of Matty Cash to Leeds United or Aston Villa.

Former Derby County striker Bent backed the pair to sign Cash, who has been impressive for Forest this season, while he also suggested there will once again be Premier League interest in the 22-year-old.

There was interest in Cash from Italian giants AC Milan and Premier League West Ham United in January, but the right-back remained on Trentside.

It won't be a surprise if there are suitors for the former Wycombe Wanderers youth aagin in the summer after a fine campaign for Sabri Lamouchi's side.

Cash has established himself as one of the top full-backs in the Championship, netting three times and registering four assists with the marauding right-back turning in a string of consistent performances.

So it's no surprise to see Forest fans issue a blunt rebuttal to Bent's comments about Cash.

"I think they will never sell Matty Cash to Leeds United Aston Villa or West Ham," one fan said.

"Never going to happen," another added. "Why leave a team where he is (one of) the beating heart(s) to do a Lansbury?"

One fan bluntly replied with "K."

"Yawn," another added.

"As long as Darren says it then it must be true," another Reds fans said.
