To cut or not to cut

Nobody look now, but it looks as though there might be a cut in interest rates on the way, so The Guardian believes, although it also belives taxes will go up so you won't notice any more money in your coffers. And speaking of regulations, people whose business involves transport will want to know about the new rulings on emissions in the same paper.

The Government is also struggling with encouraging more research and development, says the Telegraph, which is one of its stated aims, while The Times has more on Gordon Brown's alleged rule wriggling from yesterday. The Independent's analysis of the economic outlook is equally bleak.

On the bright side (and there had to be something, please!) ThisIsMoney - the Mail and Evening Standard site - suggests that if you're a small business and you're listed on the Stock Exchange, you'll at least have finished yesterday on some sort of high.
