TNT’s Stan Van Gundy Continues Spat With Heat’s Tyler Herro With Pointed ‘Soft’ Remark

NBA on TNT commentator Stan Van Gundy made sure Tyler Herro didn’t have the last word in their ongoing war of words on Saturday after the Miami guard responded to the ex-NBA coach’s comments from Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Van Gundy went viral on Tuesday after jabbing at Herro, who has been sidelined since April 16 with a broken hand, about his fashion. On Saturday, the fourth-year guard responded to SVG’s barb with a roast of his own in an Instagram post insinuating he was a bad coach during his 18 seasons at the helm.

“My ‘fashion’ as bad as he was on the sideline,” Herro wrote with a laughing emoji.

Prior to Game 6, Van Gundy was asked during TNT’s pregame show if he had any thoughts on Herro’s comeback. Needless to say, SVG appeared to have his retort locked and loaded, suggesting Herro was “soft” for taking his remarks to heart.

“Some guys get real sensitive, some of us can laugh at ourselves,” said Van Gundy. “You know, guys have gotten a little soft in this generation now.”

Clearly, Van Gundy seems more than willing to keep the beef with Herro alive if he’s eager to do so. With the 23-year-old eyeing a return for Miami’s possible trip to the NBA Finals, it’ll be interesting to see if Herro decides to add more fuel to the fire.
