TNCC to organise padayatra

TNCC KS Alagiri

The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee members will organise a 230-km padayatra over a period of 18 days to commemorate the Vedaranyam salt satyagraha and to celebrate the 75 ^th year of India’s Independence, TNCC president K.S. Alagiri said on Monday.

The padayatra will commence from Tiruchi and end at Vedaranyam and will begin on April 13 from freedom fighter S.S. Rajan’s residence. Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram will flag off the padayatra that will be led by former TNCC president K.V. Thangkabalu and hundreds of Congress cadres will take part, Mr. Alagiri said.
