TLC star Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes eerily predicted her tragic death at just 30 years old

TLC 's Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes tragically died two decades ago, on April 25th 2002, in a fatal car crash while shooting a documentary in Honduras.

Her vehicle swerved off the road to avoid hitting another vehicle that had stopped abruptly in front of them. The documentary she was working on was released as The Last Days of Left Eye and aired on VH1 in May 2007.

However, just weeks before her death, Lisa eerily predicted the tragedy that would take her own life and even claimed to have been followed around by a spirit after experiencing another tragic event.

It was reported that while she was a passenger in her rented minibus, Lisa's personal assistant Stephanie Patterson fatally struck 10-year-old Bayron Fuentes after he darted in front of the vehicle.

Lisa's attorney Patrick Bennett Connor revealed that neither Lisa, Stephanie or the boy's parents reported the incident to the police. Instead Lisa paid $3,700 to cover Bayron’s hospital bills and funeral and gave the family a sum of $925.

"They assumed responsibility,” the attorney said. “The family did not want to give Stephanie a hassle."

His mother Gloria told People magazine : "Why should we have called the police? Lisa was an excellent person, the way she treated me and took care of my son."

Bayron's grandmother told the New York Post that she didn't realise Lisa was famous until after her death, and said: "We didn’t realize she was someone famous. She was a normal person.

"At the time, we weren’t worried about who she was. We just knew she picked up my grandson and rushed him to the best hospital in the area."

But the death of Bayron seemed to push Lisa, who was already struggling with a "fragile mental state" into "an even darker mood" according to Dr Michael Hunter, a renowned forensic pathologist.

In her final documentary, Lisa spoke about Bayron and the incident and explained that she believed a spirit was stalking her in the weeks before her death.

She noted: "His last name was Lopes," and as a spiritual person, she believed the spirit that has been following her meant to kill her, but killed the boy instead."
