Tite refuses to blame VAR after Brazil booed off in Copa America stalemate

Brazil boss Tite refused to blame VAR after seeing his side have three goals disallowed and be booed off the pitch following a goalless draw with Venezuela.

Having opened the Copa America with a 3-0 win, the Selecao were left frustrated in their second game of the tournament.

Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and Philippe Coutinho all found the net in the Group A clash, only to see their efforts ruled out.

Both of the latter two efforts were both initially allowed, before being chalked off via the video assistant referee.

However Tite insisted: "VAR was correct.

"I have absolutely nothing to demand. We got justice.

"They made the right call with both [VAR] goals."

The home crowd in Salvador jeered the side at both half-time and full-time, and in his post-match press conference Tite claimed he would also have booed his side.

"We have to understand the supporters, they want to see goals and if I had been in the crowd I also would have wanted to boo us."

Despite that, the Selecao boss insists his side can cope without injured talisman Neymar.

Neymar suffered ankle ligament damage in a pre-tournament friendly against Qatar and was ruled out of the competition.

And while Tite says his loss is not insignificant, he believes his side has the talent to make light of the PSG superstar’s absence.

"Any team in the world would miss Neymar. He is top three [in the world].

"But I want to talk about this team. They can recover. We have the conditions to be more consistent, adjusting our passes, [making] better choices and movements.

"We have those conditions independently of Neymar or any other player.

"I have concerns, yes. The players are not insensitive. But we must know how to work on the adversity."
