Titans with back-to-back interceptions of Rams’ Matthew Stafford

The Tennessee Titans’ defense specializes in having quarterbacks make poor decisions when deep in their own territory.

In Week 8, Carson Wentz decided to throw a pass left-handed and it was picked late in the Titans’ victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

In Week 9, on national TV no less, Matthew Stafford of the Rams was being harassed by the Titans in the second when he chose to fling the ball to no one from the end zone.

The errant pass was picked off by David Long Jr., who returned it 6 yards and set up the Titan offense.

NBC Sports showed a replay of the pick and pointed out that Stafford could have taken the sack and his forward progress was out of the end zone and would have avoided a safety.

In what will likely be the shortest touchdown drive of the season by time — grand total of 4 seconds — Ryan Tannehill threw a pass to a wide-open Geoff Swaim for a 2-yard TD.

The Rams got the ball and Stafford found another Titan, Kevin Byard, who returned the pick 24 yards to a touchdown.

Tennessee went from being down 3-0 to up 14 in 11 seconds on the clock.

The interceptions took place within 26 seconds.
